In 2006, we were approached by the Care Training Consortium (funded by West Sussex County Council) to work with domiciliary care agencies throughout West Sussex to develop a more novel and innovative approach to medication training then currently on the market.

This resulted in the publication of 'The Home Care Workers Guide to Administering Medication' in January 2007, which carer workers received in addition to attending a three hour practical based workshop.

Training was popular and well received by the care agencies. We have since taken this approach over to the care homes sector after we competed for and were awarded the training contract in 2007 and each year thereafter.
